  • Southern Counties Archery Youth Tour is back for 2024

The 2024 tour features a dynamic schedule of 40 shoots, kicking off with events in Andover and Tonbridge on 21 April. • SCAS Inter-County Postal Portsmouth results for February

These can now be found under the "Postal Competitions" tab on the website's home page. Our team positions are as follows: Barebow 4th; Longbow 4th; Compound 6th, Junior 6th; Recurve 7th. (All out of 8.) I'm unable to comment on the individual competition positions, since this will decided on an archer's FOUR best scores, and the current contenders could have submitted 3, 4 or 5 scores. Good luck to all for March. Please note that there was an error in the algorithm for the individual Compound total, which has now been addressed.

  • Bucks AA postal Portsmouth - Results February 24

Sorry for the delay getting these online, we had a busy family weekend celebrating Sue's birthday. All the results can be found under the "Postal competitions" tab on the home page of the website. March is the final month for this competition and so it would be a good time to put in a pb. Good luck.

  • County Coaching events

The county is running a Boost Archery course in April and May with sessions running fortnightly on Saturday mornings.  This course is suitable for any archers wishing to gain in-depth knowledge of shooting technique and is suitable for all bowstyles. We are also running a practical barebow session in the afternoon on 4th May. Full details of both these events and application forms can be found under the "Coaching programme" tab on the website.

  • County Records - latest update

The latest compilation of these is now available to download as an excel file from our website. John O'Keeffe, our records officer, has requested that members check these records and let him know of any different claims (records@bucksarcheryassociation.org.uk).  He will then issue the outstanding certificates, after which he should be able to process any future claims in the usual manner. Please note: Records may only be claimed for scores achieved at an open shoot/competition.

  • National County Team Competition September 2024

The NCTC will take place on 23rd and 24th September at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.  It would be great if we could send at least a couple of teams from recurve, compound, barebow and longbow.  The teams are single-gender, three archers.  However, it would appear from the rules that we can enter pairs. The rounds are 70m (50m for barebow) followed by a head-to-head on both days. The county will pay the entry fees, archers have to pay their travel and accommodation costs. You can find more information about the shoot here:  https://archerygb.org/files/2024-national-county-teams-championships---entry-guide-190224115922.pdf If anyone is interested in representing the county at this competition, please e-mail Julie, cco@bucksarcheryassociation.org.uk and include your AGB number and bowstyle.
