The Buckinghamshire Archery Association Archer of the Year award is presented to a member in respect of their service to the county, or their club, or in recognition of their own personal progress or achievement.
The winner will be chosen by vote at the AGM this Saturday 1st November 10am at Buckland Village Hall, HP22 5JB.
Congratulations to the following archers, who have been nominated for the award-
Lesley Herriott - Silver Arrow Archers
I would like to nominate Lesley Herriott for Archer of the Year.
Lesley has set 7 county records this year for the Ladies 50+ Longbow and she is a regular attendee at county shoots.
John O’Keeffe, Whiteleaf Bowmen.
Terence Williams - Whiteleaf Bowmen
I would like to nominate Terence Williams for this year’s Archer of the Year.
I believe he has gone over and above expectations to provide judging at county and regional competitions across a vast range of archery disciplines and that his dedication to improve his judging portfolio and his willingness to travel to other county clubs for coaching is well worth this proposal.
I’ve seen him at target, clout and flight competitions this year, including at competitions as far away as Penrith and York.
We have also welcomed him to our club for several coaching sessions, all of which has been greatly received.
He also supported the county return to clout by attending the clout taster sessions as a coach.
I hope he continues this eagerness for many years, helping more archers improve.
Kevin Gray, South Bucks Archers.
