The 2026 SCAS Indoor Championships will be held on 22nd November 2026 at Places for People (SO50 9NL) and will be a World Record Status WA18m round. All BAA members are members of SCAS so eligible to compete in this event for the title of Regional Indoor Champion. Sunday 6th September saw Buckinghamshire shoot against a very strong Surrey team during the Bucks County Championships. The round- Hereford and Bristol II as appropriate. The Bucks Compound team recorded a narrow win, but Surrey won all other bowstyles resulting in an overall win for Surrey. Buckinghamshire Archery Association have developed an exciting new coaching programme! Called ‘Maximising Your Off-Season’ the programme will take archers of all levels on a structured journey where they will learn how to plan and optimise their archery sessions to improve archery performance. The first part of the programme runs from September to December 2026 and consists of 4 online evening sessions lasting 90 minutes each. Cost £5 per session. (£7.50 for non-BAA members).

BAA sent a Recurve team to the SCAS Inter-Counties 2026. Many thanks to John for the following report- Attending the SCAS inter-county competition was the first time Matilda Lang (Little Abbey Bowmen) and John Murphy (South Bucks Archers) had joined such a high level competition and it was an honour to represent the county. The Handicap rankings have been adjusted. There was an error in a submitted score. As well as errors in assigning points totals. These have now been corrected, and an updated pdf is available to download.

It's good to see more archers and teams participating. As per the rules dominant archers (this year from both recurve and barebow) have been selected to form two separate groups (M&F) and will compete across bowstyles using the AGB Handicap Tables. In addition, the remaining Men's recurve archers have been divided into two separate divisions. All other groups remain unchanged due to their relatively small sizes. Well done to Terence Williams who completed his judge training recently and is now a qualified Archery GB County Judge. Judges ensure that competitions are run safely and fairly and many of you will have seen Terence officiating at one of the county competitions or beyond over the past few years. Results for the trial Buckinghamshire Archery Association (BAA) WA720 incorporating 50+ Championship shoot attached. A closed shoot for BAA members with six of the eight county clubs represented. The day went very well with a good mix of experienced competitive archers and many who were shooting competitively for the first time. The weather was bright but very windy. Buckinghamshire Archery Association was pleased to host the SCAS Regional Clout Championships for the first time. Despite the challenges of local road closures, a village fete, a cycle race, M25 fires and bus replacement services, all attendees managed to arrive in time to start as planned. The weather was a changeable mixed bag- but with no rain and no real sun so a bonus for this time of year. Results and photos have been sent to attendees and will be available on the SCAS
