Many thanks to Kalhan for the following report-
On the weekend of the 27th/28th September Archery GB hosted the National County Team Championships 2025 at Lilleshall NSCC. Buckinghamshire Archery Association fielded a men's barebow team.
The National County Team Championships (NCTC) is an annual event hosted by Archery GB, where counties affiliated with AGB compete across four bow types—Recurve, Compound, Barebow, and Longbow—to claim the national title in their respective categories.
This two-day tournament is held at Lilleshall National Sports and Conferencing Centre (NSCC), featuring a WA720 qualification round and head-to-head (H2H) matches on both Saturday and Sunday.
Day 1 consists of men's and women's team qualifications, followed by team H2H matches. On Day 2, teams are divided into three tiers, with each tier consisting of one male and one female archer. The format is repeated with another WA720 qualification round followed by H2H matches.
The men's team began Day 1 with a WA720 qualification round, which determined rankings for the afternoon’s head-to-head matches. They finished 17th overall with a combined score of 1506.
In the first H2H match, Buckinghamshire faced off against Northamptonshire—who were seeded 16th. The match was tense, ending in a tied score of 3-3, before Buckinghamshire clinched the final set with a decisive 45-31 win. Bucks advanced to face top-seeded Bedfordshire in the next round but were ultimately defeated finishing the day in 9th place.
Team on the day - Kalhan Jogireddy (South Bucks Archers), Imran Rehman (Whiteleaf Bowmen), Nilesh Sonunkar (Shenley Archers).
