Report on Surrey Champs & Match

Sunday 15th June saw the second friendly county match with Surrey, following the inaugural match at the Bucks county championships last year. The round was a WA 1440, taking place within the Surrey county championships.
This was the first outing for our new county banner, which took a true team effort to assemble. After a couple of false starts that left it looking decidedly droopy, we succeeded in raising the banner for a great team photo.
Surrey is a very strong county with around 20 clubs and an incredibly high performance standard, so we were facing a huge challenge.
Our barebow team shot superbly to win their match. The recurves were up against it, with Surrey's top 3 gents and top 2 ladies all shooting over 1200, so an inevitable win for Surrey. Surrey also won compound and longbow, so the overall result was 3-1 win for Surrey.
Members of the Bucks team claimed visitor medals as follows:
Rukhsana Latif - 2nd lady barebow
Imran Rehman - 2nd gent barebow
Sathish Kumar Kannan - 3rd gent recurve
Many thanks to the whole team for representing the county against stiff opposition:
Barebow: Imran Rehman, Rukhsana Latif, Kalhan Jogireddy
Recurve: Sathish Kumar Kannan, Neill Ovenden, Julie Morling
Compound: Marc Bibby, Julian Wyborn
Longbow: John O'Keeffe
Julie Morling
