Almost everyone is getting information from their club secretary. The majority are also using the website and facebook page and reading the quarterly newsletter.
The activity heard about the least was the 'Committee and how to join it'.
The following sections were optional and 59 out of the 72 respondents answered one or more of the following sections. In red if there were 5 or more similar responses

Team event

More of a drive to get more archers to participate (true in general I guess)

Summer postal-

the longer distance (80y) was a bit too frustrating for most people, so it was a bit frustrating, maybe an alternative would be good so people can choose between two distances (potentially adding a handicap or so for choosing the closer distance to keep it fair)
-
rounds to be shot distributed earlier so they can be matched with club competition schedule - would get more entries if members were practicing for fewer different rounds each month.
-
Love it but been tough this year as missed most of last year's novice session (joined end of May) and had only just started archery. And this year I had to take part in with the big league which has been a steep learning curve. It would be nice to have a group in the middle whilst learning.
-
Longer to get score, bad weather & other competitions restrict available opportunities
-
Suitable distances for novices
-
Preferred the original structure from 2+ years ago - not a fan of the splitting into separate handicap group. Also, too many long distance rounds to get good participation
-
Do more rounds
Winter postal-
-
add some different rounds (12)

What about a Frostbite county postal?

Inter Club matches-

I think a lot of members are still not travelling as much as they did. And cost is an issue.

Would like to be involved in inter club matches, maybe even leagues

Some friendly competition between clubs will be nice although distance might be an issue

Summer league, face to face? Maybe a 6 or 8/9 dozen round?

Doesn't the postal already do this?

Yes (14)

For those not into competition, maybe a county level fun shoot? (It’s understood that this requires yet more volunteers etc so it’s not easy)

yes please but remove the longer rounds and do shorter rounds that will be achievable by most
Winter postal-

Other-
-
For the county champs - needs a field team, maybe clubs can't send an archer unless they also send a field team member?
-
Open, or organise the opening of, more archery clubs
-
support clubs more, run safeguarding and first aid courses
Q. Is there anything more that BAA could do to enhance your archery?
-
More Coaching sessions available nearby & on Sundays as not always available on Saturday mornings. Coaching Only sessions day at your own club?
-
More frequent mailings please
-
Argue for sub-categories for 50+ with AGB. There's a huge difference between what a 50 year-old and a 65 year-old can do.
-
No, I think BAA does a lot given its financial constraints and limited number of volunteers who support its activities
-
Maybe some high level coaching / tuning sessions, e.g. when Lloyd Brown came along in 2019
-
I am happy with the level of activities available. As indicated above, I would welcome some additions if there is funding and volunteers.
-
Nothing. I just need to turn up first.
-
I think the main problems are AGB not BAA - the direction & changes AGB have introduced are pushing members out from AGB. We have seen more non-AGB clubs / clubs with 2 memberships springing up - and inter-club competitions between non-AGB clubs.
Aside from the changes AGB have made admin side, most club members don't do Archery as a job or full time profession, it's a sport they enjoy (mostly). So the AGB imposed burden on additional course completion for Coaching for example is hard to achieve while coaching for the club and holding down a full time job. Low impact (time) CPD activities would help the current coaches who need this to maintain their accreditation - otherwise we will see a drop off in coaching numbers again. IF BAA could do something to help top up CPD points without significant time / travel commitment that would be helpful. I know we all want well qualified coaches, but not many can commit to the extra time needed to be level 2 coaches.
I think the Postal competitions are good - both Winter & Summer, although the summer schedule comes out a bit late for us (I set the summer competition schedule for our club to be ratified at the AGM in March) - so sometimes members are practicing for a lot of different rounds each month. If I knew what was planned I could align our club competitions to the Postal rounds, and possibly increase participation.
I think the other disciplines (Field & Clout) are things members might be interested in, but again it's the where & when being agreed early enough for scheduling. But I do appreciate that the county does try to run these events, and I do appreciate that the time needed to do so is coming from a very small number of busy people - so Please don't take the points above as critical - the job being done now is great, but you did ask for "what else" :)
