  • Bucks A A County Field Shoot - Sunday 15th October 2023 - White Mark Bowman - Beaconsfield.

    If you've never tried field archery before this event is a good introduction. Yes, there are medals to be won, but the emphasis is on enjoying a day’s shooting in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The round is 28 (2x 14 with a lunch break in between) animal picture targets that are shot at from marked distances in the range of 20ft to 60yds ( Junior: 15-17yrs max distance = 50yd; Cub: 14yrs and under max distance 30yd.) The distance shot is in direct proportion to the size of the scoring area, of which there are two - kill and wound. White Mark Bowmen's course is in a reasonably flat woodland setting that may be muddy depending on the weather and so trainers or walking boots are recommended.   • Bucks AA County Championships 3rd September 2023

    50+ Archers participated in a variety of imperial rounds on a gloriously hot day at Silver Arrow's range at Edlesborough. Bucks AA thanks: the competition organiser, Neill Ovenden our Lady Paramount, Lesley Herriott the judges, David Strong, John Gorman those who were able to assist in setting up the field, moving the targets, etc. Silver Arrow Club, for their warm welcome and for all their efforts, before, during and after the shoot. And a special mention for those, who prepared the delicious cakes and served the drinks throughout the day. The results will be made available in due course.

  • Bucks AA Summer Postal - August Results

    Well done to those of you that took on the challenge of shooting the Long National in August. You can check out the results on the home page under the "Postal Competitions" tab. Please note that the individual rankings are for guidance only, since the final positions will be determined by an archer's best four points scores. September is the final month of this competition and the round is Warwick (Junior Warwick/Warwick 40). Good luck.

  • Summer postal update

    Having completed the three preliminary rounds, as per the rules for the INDIVIDUAL COMPETITIONS, I have separated out: A group of our ladies to compete across bowstyles in an elite league that using the D. Lane Handicap Tables. ( The handicapping seems to be working....) For the men's Recurve and Bare Bow, the groupings have been determined based on typical monthly points gained; not on total points. The other groups remain unchanged due to the small number of archers that comprise them. As usual you can find this month's results under the "Postal Competitions" tab on the home page. Alan

    Rose Awards will be available at the Bucks AA county Championships, 3rd September 2023. Although not explicitly mentioned on the application form it is confirmed that Rose Awards may be claimed at this event. Entry forms are available under "BAA County Tournaments" tab on the Home page. (Closing date 16th August)

  • Bucks AA Summer Postal Results - June

    Many thanks to those of you who have submitted scores for June's National round. Don't worry if you weren't able to do so since, for the Individual competition, an archer's four best results are used to determine the outcome. You can find a link to download June's results by clicking on the "Summer Postal" tab on the home page. July's round is: LONG METRIC I for adults (3doz at 70m & 3doz at 60m) LONG METRIC III for juniors (3doz at 50m & 3doz at 40m). Both use a 122cm face with metric scoring. These longer distances are more challenging, but have a go and see how you get on.

  • South Bucks Archer wins at World Archery Weekend

    Congratulations to Kalhan Jogireddy (pictured), who won Gold (Barebow Men) at World Archery Weekend 2023 (720 & H2H) hosted by Peacock Archers. Also, honorable mentions go to Gary Morgan of Silver Arrow and Tan Quach of Shenley, both of whom reached the final eight in the same event.

  • Wanted - Archers for County Team

    We are looking to enter teams for the National County Team Competition at Lilleshall National Sports Centre on 23rd and 24th September. Teams comprise three archers, male and female teams, OR a mixed team of three in each discipline (recurve, compound, barebow and longbow). At this stage it's not clear if the mixed teams are only eligible on 24th September, so clarification from AGB is being sought. The county will make the entries and pay the entry fees but archers must pay for their own travel and accommodation.   • Bucks AA Summer postal starts in May

    Here's an overview of the rules and rounds, however the full details can be found under the "Summer Postal" tab on the home page. Team competitions (recurve, compound, barebow [including AFB and Asian bow (AB)], longbow): Mixed teams of THREE archers, at least one of whom is a female or a junior. No limit to the number of teams entered by a club, but an archer may only shoot for one team each month. Individual competitions (recurve, compound, barebow [including AFB* and Asian bow* (AB)], longbow): Adult and Junior An archer may enter TWO different bowstyles each month. Rounds to be shot between 1st and 21st of the month. May – Short metric (Short metric III) June - National (Junior National/National 40) July - Long Metric I (Long Metric III) Aug - Long National (Short National/National 50) Sept - Warwick (Junior Warwick/Warwick 40) See - Rules of Shooting: Tables 3.1, 3.2. * If there are sufficient numbers in these bow styles they will form their own individual league.
